Scoilnet Account

If you registered to use any of the Scoilnet applications or services, eg. Scoilnet Maps, Web Hosting, Blogs, a Scoilnet Account will have been created for you and you will have been issued with a username and password. Your username comprises your first initial, your surname and then four digits. This username uniquely identifies each Scoilnet user. If there are 4 Mary Murphys registered, there will be no conflict as each will have a different set of numbers following the 'mmurphy' part of their username.

Note: Usernames cannot be changed.

To setup a Scoilnet Account you will need your Teaching Council Number(TCN) which you can look up on the Teaching Council Register if you do not have it to hand.

Account Settings allows you to change your password, reset a lost password and update your email address as well as change settings associated with specific Scoilnet Services e.g. Web Hosting.

Basics

To login, go to the Scoilnet Account Settings and login.

The My Account Tab will be selected which will show you the details held for your account and allow you to change your email address and/or password.

Changing your Password and/or Email Address

Login to the Scoilnet Account Settings and the My Account Tab will be selected. The information associated with your account is displayed on the right under Your Details. This will include information such as your school roll number, your address and email.

To change your password, enter your new password to the right of the New Password prompt and below after the re-enter your password prompt and click on the Save Changes button.

To change your email address, enter your new email address to the right of the New Email Address prompt and click on the Save Changes button.

Once you have change your settings, review your details again to ensure they are correct.

Reset a Lost Password

If you have forgotten your password go to the Scoilnet Account Settings and click on Forgotten your password?

Enter the email address used when registering for the service and your password will be reset and emailed to you. If you have forgotten the email address that was used when registering or no longer have access to this email account please contact the NCTE Service Desk.

Web Hosting Account Settings

To access the Web Hosting Account Settings, you must have Webmaster access to your school's Scoilnet website.
